Why you received this email

A former employee has created an AscentPassport profile and listed your organisation as a previous employer. They have asked AscentPassport to verify their employment record. Our system has sent you a secure verification request on their behalf.

This is not spam. It is a legitimate employment verification request from a platform that helps professionals carry verified career records with them. Responding takes less than 2 minutes.

What you need to confirm

Did this person work at your organisation?
Are the employment dates they have listed accurate?
Was their job title correct?
Do you have any concerns about their employment record?

Is this secure?

Yes. Each verification request comes with a unique one-time link that expires after 7 days. We never ask for passwords, financial data, or any sensitive company information. You are only asked to confirm basic employment facts.

What happens after you respond

If you confirm the employment, the record is marked as HR Verified on the candidate's AscentPassport. Their AP Score increases. Your organisation earns verification credits which you can use to check the backgrounds of your own new hires.

If you report a discrepancy, the record is flagged and the candidate's score reflects the issue. If you are unable to confirm (perhaps the records are archived), you can respond accordingly and no penalty is applied to the candidate.

your AP Score increases significantly and the experience is marked as HR Verified. This signal is the most powerful trust indicator on your profile.

What if HR does not respond?

If HR does not respond within 7 days, AscentPassport sends one follow-up. If there is still no response, the experience remains at its AI-assessed score. This does not penalise you. The AI agents have already evaluated your profile and a non-response from HR is treated neutrally, not negatively.
